Student Sustainability Summit - 5/28/26
Over 100 MCPS students gathered to hear about sustainability progress. With activities ranging from hands-on mulching and planting to workshops on advocating for climate issues, the event brought together the county's sustainability experts, organizations, and students.
CCAP Kickoff Event - 6/2/25
Students from across MCPS joined in-person and online for the Climate Change Action Plan Kickoff organized by the SCAC. It officially launched the student-led effort to develop a comprehensive plan for reaching MCPS's climate goals.
Advocacy Day - 4/30/25
SCAC members traveled to Capitol Hill to meet with congressional offices and advocate for key federal climate legislation, connecting national policy to student experiences across MCPS.
Retreat @ Woodend - 7/13/25
Councilmembers gathered at Woodend Nature Sanctuary for a training and bonding retreat to kick off the new year.
SCAC Town Hall - 3/3/25
During our Town Hall, students across MCPS shared their concerns and ideas directly with county leaders as well as the Council, providing feedback about current efforts and potential new ideas.
